My name is Yamila Chiappe, I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I obtained a BFA in Production and Design for Film and Stage with a focus in Scenic Design and Props from Pace University in New York City.

Over the course of my studies,  I've had the opportunity to work for a number of directors, such as, Tony nominated director Graciela Daniele who is a Member of the American Theater Hall Of Fame, Gina Rattan, known for her work on Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella - National Tour and for her role as Associate Director for Matilda on Broadway.

During my senior year, I was an intern for Paul Tate de Poo, who I assisted on various shows and with Christine Jones on HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD on Broadway.

After graduating in 2017,  I worked as a character attendant for THE WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT. This opportunity was availed to me to learn more about the company and attend seminars regarding the diverse design aspects that exist in the parks.
Upon my return to New York, I was a part of THE EXPONENTIAL FESTIVAL which featured a meditative piece originally by Richard Foreman called In the Depths of LAVA, reconstructed by Scott Davis. Over the course of the last few years, I worked on a design project for COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY and assisted Jim Morgan, known for designing the revival of Sweeney Todd on Broadway, on a variety of Off-Broadway shows for THE YORK THEATRE and THE IRISH REPERTORY THEATRE.

Upon my return to Argentina in 2018, I designed a number of shows for THE SUBURBAN PLAYERS. One of them was AMADEUS directed by Peter Macfarlane, who also holds the title of character coordinator and director for the shows of The Walt Disney Company Latin America.

Here is when my work for the production company Macfarlane & Ros Artayeta begins. I designed a Meet & Greet for Belle’s MAKE A WISH event that took place at THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY LATIN AMERICA.  Also, I designed a Meet & Greet for the AVANT PREMIERE of FROZEN II, which took place in Cinepolis Recoleta.

In February of 2020, I was a part of the STAR WARS "A NEW HOPE" IN CONCERT at Teatro Colon as a character coordinator. This experience allowed me to create sketches of the Meet & Greet locations present at the event.

In 2021 I started working as an Assistant to the Art Department and Builder for Disney's ART ATTACK. Following my experience on TV, I worked as an Art Coordinator for HBO's DIAS DE GALLOS, and in 2022 started working as an Assistant Scenic Designer for the upcoming STAR PLUS show COPPOLA. My time there was cut short since I started my journey with Disney Cruise Line.

At DISNEY'S CRUISE LINE I was in charge of the department for Stage, Props, and Puppets, where I ran show tracks and looked out for the correct function of their scenic, props, and puppet elements. This included maintenance, construction, and an open communication and collaboration with the shoreside team. Here I had the opportunity to work closely with puppets and props from Michael Curry Design and Paragon to name a few.

In 2022 with Walt Disney Company LATAM and MacRos Showmakers, I was in charge of the design of the Meet and Greets and Foyer of Teatro Colon for their presentation of STAR WARS "AN EMPIRE STRIKES BACK". Later that year, I did the props and coordinated the presentation for the AVANT PREMIERE of STAR PLUS "SANTA EVITA"
During the summer of 2023, I participated as a Character Coordinator for Disney's Magia y Sinfonia at the Teatro Colon with Disney and the production company MacRos Showmakers.

My latest project has been the design of a Meet and Greet Location based in the neighborhood of LA BOCA as well as "Cafetin" for an event held by LORDCO AUTO PARTS in Buenos Aires Argentina.
I am excited for the future and look forward to my next project!
